Project Title: Development of Exposure and Risk Mitigation for Biocides, Assessment Methodology and Pilot Study on Risk and Hazard Assessment
-
Support organization: Ministry of Environment, National Institute of Environmental Research
-
Business Purpose
-
Developing appropriate risk reduction measures for the main exposure routes of biocidal products, such as inhalation and dermal contact, by categorizing these measures based on the user, usage, application method, and characteristics of the biocidal substances contained
-
Improving and enhancing the hazard assessment methods for biocidal substances, and proposing risk-benefit assessment methodologies based on these enhanced methods
-
Establishing a foundational database of evaluation results by conducting pilot studies on the risk-benefit assessments of substances in disinfectant and pest control products
-
-
Support details
-
Developing risk assessment and risk reduction measures for both inhalation and non-inhalation exposures of biocidal products (such as disinfectants, pest control agents, and removers) on a substance-by-substance basis
-
Enhancing the hazard assessment methods for biocidal substances
-
Conducting pilot studies on the risk-benefit assessments of substances in disinfectants and pest control agents
